Through a webinar, the National Statistics Institute (INE) will present, for the first time in the country, the Multidimensional Poverty Index (MPI), an official measure that analyzes the deprivation of the population in four dimensions: Access to work and social security; Housing and services; Health and environment, and Education.
OPHI invites applications for its inaugural course Leaders Programme: Using the MPI as a Policy Tool. This five-day online programme will be held 23–27 August, and is aimed at senior government officials and top-level policymakers.
OPHI Executive Education is designed to provide senior government officials and top-level policymakers with practical knowledge to lead national, regional and global efforts for poverty reduction by using the Multidimensional Poverty Index (MPI) as a policy tool.
Days after the approval of the Andorran Declaration by the Ibero-American Heads of State and Government, and in the backdrop of the XXVII Ibero-American Summit, the Multidimensional Poverty Peer Network (MPPN) celebrated a regional event which discussed the Multidimensional Poverty Index (MPI) as a tool for governance in the region. The event was co-hosted by the Oxford Poverty & Human Development Initiative (OPHI), as the Secretariat of the MPPN, together with the Ibero-American General Secretariat (SEGIB) and the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP).
