The Rwanda’s Multidimensional Poverty Index (RW-MPI) has four dimensions and 14 indicators:
Each of the four dimensions is given an equal weight of 1/4 in the MPI. Values for the component indicators differ depending on the number of indicators under each dimension. A person needs to be deprived in 2 out of 5 (40%) of weighted indicators to be identified as multidimensionally poor.
Rwanda’s Multidimensional Poverty Index (MPI) is based on the Integrated Household Living Conditions Survey (EICV) data.
